The practice has changed its opens surgery policy and we no longer require you wait in line to see a GP. If you require to see a GP, please call the practice. Our phone lines are open from 8:00 to 18:30 (except for Thursdays when the on call phone number will be made available) but access to the building is open from 8:30 onward. A GP will call you back and agree with you the next step.

Please note that patients will be contacted by a GP or nurse and invited in to the surgery to see a Doctor as and when appropriate.

Protected Learning Time

As a rule, the practice closes for Protected Learning Time on the first Tuesday of every month from 1:00pm to 3:30pm. On the rare occasions that the first Tuesday of the month falls immediately after a bank holiday, the practice will close on the second Tuesday instead.

There will be times the practice needs to close for staff training, these will be notified on the news page of the website.

When we are closed

If you have an urgent health need while the practice is closed, please call NHS 111 (all calls to 111 will be recorded). The old out of hours and NHS Direct numbers are no longer in use and for any out of hours emergencies you must now phone the NHS 111 service.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and/or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

If you have a Mental Health or Adult Social Care issue, please call 01472 256256. This service is available 24/7.

Parking

A car park and dropping off point is provided for patients who are visiting the surgery. Please park only in the spaces provided, there are designated parking bays for blue badge holders and mother and child. CCTV is used in the car park but note no responsibility can be accepted by the practice for damage caused to any vehicle using the car park.

Public transport

The surgery is served by Toothill Road Bus stop on Yarborough Road.

Access

The surgery has been designed to be easily accessible and user friendly for our disabled and wheelchair-bound patients. There are designated parking spaces in the car park with easy access ramps up to the pathway. The entrance to the building has automatic doors and disabled toilet facilities are located adjacent to the waiting room on the ground floor and first floor. There are lifts available for access to the first floor. If you experience any problems please speak to one of our receptionist who will be pleased to assist you.

Wheelchairs are available at the ground floor reception for patients who need help accessing the building.

Baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor and first floor.

Talk to the reception team if you need any additional assistance when you attend your appointment, adjustments can be made to how we call you to the consulting room, arranging for an interpreter or using an induction loop.

Your comments and suggestions are important to us, you can download one of our suggestion forms (Praise or Grumble.pdf) or pick one up in reception, there is a Suggestion Box in the waiting area for you to post you completed form. Please only use this form for comments about the practice and suggestions as to how we can improve our service to you.

Medical matters and official complaints cannot be dealt with via this form. If you have a query regarding a medical matter please telephone reception to make an appointment to see the appropriate person, if you wish to make a complaint follow the information below.

Making a complaint

We make every effort to give the best service possible to everyone who attends our practice.

However, we are aware that things can go wrong resulting in a patient feeling that they have a genuine cause for complaint. If this is so, we would wish for the matter to be settled as quickly, and as amicably, as possible.
